Spirits: There has been an amazing growth recently in British artisan gin and vodka producers.
The marmalade or rhubarb vodka from Chase Distillery goes down very easily.
The rye vodka, dry gin and rye whiskey from The Oxford Artisan Distillery is made from heritage grains grown in Oxford. The result is a smooth work of art.
We use mixers from Fever Tree.

Wine: We were sick of paying £8-9 for an undrinkable glass of wine so we were determined to do better. It needed a radical approach and we looked at the (largely European) trend towards bag-in-box (BiB) wine.
Advantages:
Our supplier specialises in low intervention wines from small vineyards. Those winemakers try to keep things as natural and simple as possible, and the wines we stock are (variously) organic, low sulphites, and 5 of our 7 wines are also vegan.
Undeniably some won't like the idea of wine from a box, but the wine industry has firmly taken this on board, and given the huge savings, it is the way forward. Ultimately we, like the producers, are motivated by real quality and not just the perception of quality.

Advantages:
- Glass bottles are quite heavy so are more expensive to transport/store than boxes. Much of the money you spend on bottled wine is spent on moving it around the world before it gets to you. As a business, we want to keep our carbon footprint low.
- BiB wine boxes create a lot less waste than bottles.
- With no light or air penetration, the BiB pouch is fantastic at keeping it fresh once opened.
