- Fidget & Bob will identify a local charity or organisation.
- When you make any purchase at Fidget & Bob, you can make a donation at the till - from £1.
- Every penny donated goes to charity in the form of goods - Fidget & Bob Ltd. absorbs associated card & transaction fees.
- Fidget & Bob liaise directly with the chosen charity, & ascertain what they need at that *particular time.
- Fidget & Bob purchase & deliver goods to the total donated value.
No. 5 - New Beginnings (Feb. 2024 - Sept. '24)
We collected for New Beginnings Reading. Based at the old Queens Arms pub in Great Knollys Street, New Beginnings support homeless people in a number of ways:

- providing food & clothes,
- sign-posting support services & temporary accommodation,
- assisting with independent living,
- an all-day café on Mon., Tues. & Thurs.;
- a hot meal every Tuesday;
- a community fridge on Weds, Thurs & Fri. Free food available. No referral is required.
No. 4 - Whitley Hub CDA - Food Surplus Project (Oct. '23 - Jan. '24)
We supported the Surplus Food Project for the autumn/winter Fidget & Bob Community Giving project.
At their request, we bought an iPad to support their work with service users. With the remaining money, we bought a LOAD of toiletries. In total, you helped us donate £544 to the project.
Previously, between November and Christmas 2022, #OurLovelyCustomers raised £369 for the Whitley CDA Food Surplus Project. (See below)

Launchpad is a homelessness prevention charity, providing vital information & support for anyone who doesn’t have a stable place to live, or who are at risk of losing their home.
Founded as a soup kitchen in 1979 by students at the University of Reading, the charity now provides a holistic service to help vulnerable people tackle their housing-related problems, obtain & sustain a long-term home, and lead full & independent lives.
Launchpad provides drop-in, legal advice & floating support services to help people overcome housing-related challenges before things get worse.
They aim to break the cycle of homelessness by providing temporary homes with bespoke support for up to 104 people, as well as 10 long-term homes for people in housing need. Launchpad also rebuilds lives at Launchpad 135 – a place where vulnerable people can learn new skills, build confidence and get back into work.

The first recipient of our Community Giving project was Whitley Community Development Association, based nearby.
Established in 2013, one of their most important projects has become the Food Surplus Project. Surplus food donated to CDA is given to those who need it - no referral required.
